I'm sitting right now in the car with Kris on the way back from Davis typing on my new netbook!

My monitor and netbook came in about 3 days ago!! The monitor is amazing.. I can't fathom how huge it is [mind you I've been using a 12 inch laptop for the past 1.5 years].

This week has been goood! It involved family time, swimming, running errands, going to Berkeley for sandwiches, San Francisco with friends, watching Public Enemies, finishing Avatar [all 3 seasons!!!], going to Davis for the weekend, and more!!

I found out where I'm living in Singapore!! It's going to be in PGP aka Prince George's Park Residences which is the NUS version of an International House!! I'm super happy because I wanted to live on campus b/c it's convenient. I know 4 others that are also in PGP too! I'm guessing the rest are either in other halls or in off campus housing at NUS owned hostels. I hear the off campus is better for socializing with EAPers but less convenient to get to classes.

15 more days till I leave!! Shit. Gota run around buying a bunch of stuff I'll need for the next few months!!

    Davis this weekend:

Me, Jon P, Smith, and Kris headed up to Davis. We went in two cars at different times. It was cool to finally come up to Davis and get a your of the place. It definitely has a super different feel than San Diego. The housing looks much older, there is the smell of grass and cows around, it's much hotter, and the trees are not Palm trees. It reminds me of some residential places of San Jose, like near Bellarmaine.

We got there, ordered pizza, picked it up, drank and ate, headed out to a party and knocked the fuck out at Susan's. We were all pretty tired for different reasons.  Next morning [aka this morning] I hear an alarm go off. Apparently it's Susan's roomie who is back at home [not in Davis]. I wake up, thinking it's Susan's alarm. Kris and Smith wake up too. I crawled to Susan's room and find that it's not coming from her room. I then just move my sleeping bag in there to avoid the noise. Looking at the clock, it was  6:23 AM!!! HELLLLLLLLLA EARLY.  The alarm goes off for another good 2 hours!!

Newsflash: If you're leaving somewhere make sure to TURN OFF YOUR ALARM! ITS SO ANNOYING!!!

Smith has to leave with Jon b/c apparently his mom fell and neds someone to take her to the hospital. I hope she's okay! Kris, Susan, and I went to get Dim sum, some cupcakes at a famous bakery, and then went back to Susan's to  drop her off. We then go to Kris' to hangout and Dianne comes for a bit!!!

Overall a chill and goood weekend. I love summer b/c I actually have time to do stuff like this.

  • I think it’s funny that when I don’t have much time, ie. Finals week, I blog a bunch but during the summer when I have ample free time, I rarely blog.

These past 3 days have been MUTHA FUCKIN HOT AS HELL in the bay. High 90s and even breaking the 100s. It’s a huge difference from the constant 71 of San Diego. I desperately was trying to find places with AC to escape to and was wishing that a swimming pool or a beach was nearby.. but it was nowhere in sight. Pools here are expensive, a bit ghetto, and not as clean [relative to UCSD’s]. I didn’t really realize how nice the UCSD swimming pool was! It’s super well maintained and clean.

Yesterday was my Grandma’s and Uncle’s birthdays! Lots of food and family time. Our parties typically involve lots of eating, talking, and just sitting and relaxing. It’s a nice break from the constant busy’ness of San Diego during the school year. I had time to talk to my cousin and catch up.

Today was productive! I had a Optometrist apmnt, went to open up an HSBC account so that I can access my money in Singapore when I’m abroad, made deposits, swam, napped, ate, went to eat Yogurt with people.

I have a bunch of errands but by the end of the week, I’m pretty sure I’m going to complete them all. Then its 3 more weeks till Singapore.. but I have a feeling I’m going to be super bored. Everyone is taking classes or working.. I have NOTHING! No one wants to hire someone just for 1 month. Sadness…. But I need money!!!!!!!!!! WAH!

  • GOD I HATE THIS SCREEN! It gives me a headache trying to use this laptop with the cracked screen. MUST FIND NEW LCD SCREEN.. and a cheap netbook.
  • I'm in the bay, trick.

Yesterday I woke up at 7:45 am when Big Box storage delivered the storage unit. I showed them where to put it and filled out the paperwork. Pretty sweet and convenient. The deliver a 5x8 storage unit and you move your shit in there and lock it.. and they pick it up at a time you desire. 69/month and 1st month is free. Also, delivery in the end is 99 bucks when you want them to deliver it to your new place. Not bad though! Overall, its only 60 dollars more than the cheapest storage in the area.. and that money would have been used towards renting a truck or something.

But yeah, if you guys need storage, use it! There's a coupon online for 1st month free.

Jeff came over in the morning to help me move all the heavy furniture. Then Mindy came later and helped me with all the smaller things. All I gota say is, MOVING IS A BITCH, and also, WHERE DID I GET ALL THIS SHIT FROM!?! I had so much stuff that I accumulated. It didn't seem like it because our townhouse is pretty big, and when dispersed, you can't really tell. I filled that storage unit to the brim!

Afterwards I cleaned up the place for the subletters who are moving in this week. Then, me and Angela got Pho T Cali and then headed back to Norcal! After 7 hours of driving, we made it home!!!

It feels good to be home.. but my room doesn't feel like my room. My REAL room was the one in SD. Oh, I'll miss it.

Today I spent just unpacking my car, reorganizing my room here, and sorting out old stuff. I have three trashbags of clothes to give away. No point in keeping it if I never use it, right?

Got to see Kris, Susan, Jon P, and Tony today too! It's good to be home.
